Ag CMS Sites Go Live With Ask an Expert Widget
Three new county extension web sites have gone live in the last three weeks. Two of these sites have added the Ask an Expert widget.
The number of Agriculture & University Extension web sites in the Ag Content Management System (Ag CMS) continues to grow. As of June 24, 2009, 47 web sites have been created in the Ag CMS and 4 of those have been made available to the public (what we refer to as "go live").
The latest sites to go live in the Ag CMS are Oliver County Extension, Ward County Extension and Steele County Extension. Both Oliver County and Steele County have added eXtension's "Ask an Expert" widget to their new web sites.
The "Ask an Expert" widget enables an office or department to manage and answer questions asked by their local constituents. The widget works in conjunction with the eXtension FAQ/Ask an Expert site.
The widget is placed on a local web site. When a public user of that site submits a question, it's routed to experts and agents working in the eXtension FAQ/Ask and Expert application and they respond to the public user from there.
