Getting Started
The first step in using the Ag CMS is setting up your user account and/or web site, then logging in.
Also available in presentation modeā¦
Request a User Account or Web Site
If you would like to create and/or manage a web site in the Ag CMS, click "Request an Account/Site" and complete the request form.
You will need your full name and e-mail address to request your user account. Your username will be your first initial followed by your last name. If your name was "Jeff Wilhelmi," your username will be "jwilhelmi." If your username is already in use (Janice Wilhelmi already has the username "jwilhelmi"), your username will be your first initial followed by your middle initial then your last name.
Once your account has been created, you will receive an e-mail from "Site Administrator." The e-mail will contain a link that will allow you to create your Ag CMS password. Once you have created your password, you will be able to login to the Ag CMS.
If you need a web site created in the Ag CMS, you will need to include the name of your office, department, project, etc. You will have the opportunity to choose photos for use in your header graphic.
Request Access to an Existing Site
Once your user account has been created, you may wish to request access to edit an existing Ag CMS web site. The site owner (the person who requested the creation of the site), controls access to their Ag CMS site. Contact the site owner to request access to edit an existing site. If you do not know who owns a site, check the "Site Manager" in the footer at the bottom of the web site you wish to edit.
Logging In
Once you have a user account, open a browser (Firefox recommended) and go to the Ag CMS web site you wish to edit.At the end of the site URL in your browser's address bar, type "/login" and hit the "Enter" key on your keyboard. For example, if you want to edit the web site, "http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/AgCMS", you would change the URL in the browser's address bar to "http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/AgCMS/login." Hit the "Enter" key and a login page will appear.
