Cereal Science Students Receive Awards

Three North Dakota State University Department of Plant Sciences students in the Cereal Science program received awards from the Minnesota Section of the Institute of Food Technologists (MNIFT) on April 27, 2023.
Anto Pradeep Raja Charles, Ph.D. candidate, received the Elwood F. Caldwell Award for Volunteer Service and a Travel Scholarship Award. Liuyi Chang, Ph.D. candidate, received the 2023 MNIFT Ph.D. Award and a Travel Scholarship Award.
Matteo Grossi, Ph.D. candidate, received a Travel Scholarship Award. Charles and Chang are both advised by Dr. Jiajia Rao; Grossi is advised by Dr. Bingcan Chen.
The MNIFT is a regional section of the Institute of Food Technologists and has a tradition of excellence and leadership development. The territory of the section includes Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, northern Iowa, and northwestern Wisconsin. The MNIFT Macy Award and Student Award Night, which is held annually, took place at American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis, MN.
