Anna Mahoney was named one of the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources (CAFSNR) top seniors at the 2022 North Dakota State University (NDSU) Ag Week Banquet on April 22, 2022. Mahoney is a Department of Plant Sciences Food Science major from Appleton, Minnesota, and will graduate May 14, 2022.

During her time at NDSU, Mahoney received several scholarships and awards including the Minnesota Institute of Food Technologists Scholarship, the Institute of Food Technologists Feeding Tomorrow Scholarship, the NDSU Provost Award, the Larry and Sandy Klosterman Band Endowment, and three CAFSNR agricultural scholarships (the Cutler-Maetzold Scholarship, Ralph and Constance Brakke Scholarship, and Hulstrand Family Scholarship).

She also participated in the Food Science and Food Safety Club as president and programming council representative, the CAFSNR Honor Commission as chair and vice chair, and the Gold Star Marching Band.

Mahoney completed three internships. She worked in Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Great Lakes Cheese in La Crosse, WI, in Quality Assurance at Seneca Foods in Glencoe, MN, and as a Strawberry Intern at West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris, MN.

She plans to work in research and development at a food company.

Mahoney says that a big highlight of her years at NDSU was being a member of the Gold Star Marching Band and going to Frisco, TX to watch NDSU win the championship football game.
