NDSU Graduate Student Earns Top Award at Phi Tau Sigma Speedy Science 2023

Anto Pradeep Raja Charles, Ph.D. candidate in the Cereal Science Program, Department of Plant Sciences, received the first place award in the Speedy Science 2023 competition organized by National Phi Tau Sigma: Honor Society of Food Science and Technology, University of Minnesota. Anto Charles is advised by Dr. Jiajia Rao, food ingredients and biopolymers research lab at NDSU.

Speedy Science 2023 is an annual organizing thesis presentation competition that was originally started at the University of Queensland. Graduate students from the University of Minnesota, South Dakota State University, University of California-Davis, UOG, Iowa State University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and North Dakota State University participated in the competition. Among them, Anto Charles and South Dakota State University students were qualified for finals. Anto Charles is the first student in the history of NDSU to win this competition, and he was provided with a cash award and achievement certificate.
