Plant Science Student Receives Soybean Research Award
North Dakota State University Department of Plant Sciences M.S. student in the Plant Science program received an award at the 11th Annual World Soybean Research Conference (@WSRC11) held June 18-23, 2023 in Vienna, Austria.
Clara Mvuta, M.S. student, received the Young Scientist Award – United States for her poster entitled, Determining genetic mechanisms of maturity in North Dakota: Expanding the molecular model of MG 00 and 0. Mvuta is advised by Dr. Carrie Miranda, assistant professor, Soybean Breeding Program.
The WSRC is an international research conference organized every four to five years that provides a global perspective on critical issues facing the industry and whole soybean sector. The first WSRC was held in 1975 in Urbana-Champaign, IL and 2023 marked its first commencement in Europe. The aim of the WSRC is to promote soybean research and encourage the global soybean community to interact and initiate discussions, aiming to give answers and raise new questions on this globally important crop.
