Food Science Teaching and Food Science Undergraduate Program Coordination
I really enjoy teaching and interacting/advising students. As an Assistant Professor of Practice, I am involved in teaching various Food Science courses in the Cereal and Food Science Program, Department of Plant Sciences at North Dakota State University. Apart from my focus on teaching Food Science courses, with collaboration, I have been involved in food science teaching related research, food fermentation, and cereal grain safety during storage and processing.
Food Science undergraduate program at NDSU is a Four-Year Curriculum offered by the College of Agriculture, Food Systems and Natural Resources through the Department of Plant Sciences. Students in the program recognize, critically analyze and solve problems related to transformation of raw agricultural goods into wholesome and safe food products for human consumption. At the end of the four year undergraduate studies, students earn Bachelor of Food Science.
I enjoy being the Food Science Coordinator at NDSU and through this role, I am actively engaged in welcoming prospective and current students to Food Science undergraduate program. I help the prospective students and their families learn about the advantages of majoring in Food Science at NDSU and help answer any questions they may have regarding the program. As an academic advisor for undergraduates in the Food Science program, I actively help guide the students to successfully achieve their learning goals in Food Science field, register for classes and eventually earn the degree in Food Science.
