Sportfishing

Text

Do you have some families who are ice fishing crazy?  We are hoping to develop the sportfishing program into the next big thing! To kick off this effort, the North Dakota 4-H Environmental Project which includes shooting sports and sportfishing, is launching 3 ice fishing challenges in the next couple weeks. Youth ages 6-18 years old will compete virtually on any lake for awards in 4 fish categories: largest walleye and northern pike, and the largest stringer of 3 fish in perch and crappies. Fish will be measured nose to tail on scaled ruler and submitted through the phone app FishDonkey.

Registration will be free on 4-H Online with the download and registration in the Ice Challenges $10 per tournament on the phone app. Youth can ice fish anywhere in North Dakota. Open water is off limits.
